Family Fun Under the Stars

 

   There is nothing better than spending a beautiful summer night under the stars camped out with your family watching a favorite movie on the big screen. It is a great way to spend quality time with your family while enjoying the outdoors. The Urbana Regional Library has made this possible with their free Starlight Family Film Festival. This event has been very successful drawing large spectators that have come out as a community to enjoy the show. Dynamic Automotive is proud   to be sponsors of such a great event and a wonderful program in our community. The festival has offered big name movies for the family like Cinderella, Lego Movie and most recently Big Hero 6. What helps to make this special is the theme for each event goes with the movie. During the Cinderella festival Urbana had their very own princesses meeting the families and having fun. Kids had the opportunity to dress up and be a part of the movie. Lego night was all about the building blocks. Rows of blankets were laid out with Lego blocks available for some creative construction projects. There is nothing like a new house built out of Legos to get the movie started off right. Rita’s was there offering their delicious flavored ice which was perfect for a hot summer night.  At the Big Hero 6 night Batman was present to greet the kids and everyone was wearing twisted balloons of all designs. Kids where running around in their super hero outfits fighting evil to keep their friends and family safe. There will be a total of 4 movies in all and there is only one left. Voted on by the community itself the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens will play August 4^th. This will be an amazing event filled with storm troopers and Star Wars fun for all. There is word of a possible Chewbacca sighting and some Light Saber giveaways. Everyone bring a blanket, lawn chairs, pack a picnic basket and join the community at the Natelli Community Center. Activities start at 7pm and the movie will begin around 8:30 p.m. Dates and time can change depending on weather. Information will be posted by Frederick County Public Library social media.
