  • Color on the Creek

Annually, Sailing Through The Winter Solstice begins in November, when a number of boats, transformed through the creative minds of many Frederick friends, set sail on the Creek. Our fleet has grown from one boat the first year to 26 sailing boats and 4 land-locked boats in the 2022-23 season. The boats are anchored in Carroll Creek, between Market Street and Carrol Street.

The fleet includes gaff-rigged ketches, yawls, three-masted schooners, and pirate ships, moored with their sail outlines, rigging and decks lit up from dusk till dawn. If you can’t imagine it make sure to come by and take a look at the amazing flotilla!

It’s not just fun, it’s for a purpose. In addition to voting for your favorite boat ($1 per vote), many organizations are raising awareness and money for amazing causes. Take a few minutes to watch an inspiring video about the USS Andrew Lee. All proceeds raised during STTWS got to Color On The Creek and each boat’s designated charity. The event runs from launch week in November through the 1st Saturday in February’s traditional theme ‘Fire & Ice’.

Click here to vote for your favorite boat! Proceeds for the Dynamic Automotive boat go to Second Chance Garage.

  • 2022 Frederick County High School Career Fair

Sara, Dwayne, Lee & José recruited high school seniors into the automotive field at the career fair.

  • 2021 Christmas Cash for Kids

Dwayne and I at the Christmas Cash for Kids Event by WFMD 930 Talk Radio. Raising over $144.133 dollars, this is Community Service at its best. Thanks WFMD Christmas Cash for Kids is the oldest holiday tradition in Frederick County which provides toys to children who would otherwise have to do without.

  • 2021 Carshow Platoon 22

Amazing day at Dynamic Automotive’s (a Veteran owned company) 13th Annual Car Show. They raised $10,000 at today’s event in support of our mission #veteranshelpingveterans.

The lucky 🍀 50/50 winner donated the cash prize back and surprisingly received tickets to a concert of choice thanks to The Great Frederick Fair. The Frederick community continues to be one of the most generous.

We are so close to being ready to open the Platoon Veterans Services Center (coming in 2022) and cannot wait for a brick-and-mortar location to serve Veterans here in Frederick! Thank you to everyone who made today possible, and a huge success!

  • 2021 Fair RC Car

We were asked to be the anchor of the new kids’ zone at the Great Frederick Fair. This area was created to offer families an area where they could have fun that was free. The RC cars were a great hit with many winning trophies.

  • 2020 United Way Pathway to Transportation

When we were asked to sponsor the United Ways Pathway to Transportation Program we felt like it was a perfect match. Transportation is in our blood and helping those in need in Frederick County achieve reliable transportation is a great purpose. Helping people acquire reliable transportation changes their lives and opens many doors to a much brighter future.

  • Community Living

Community Living provides supports and services to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. We also have an affiliated foundation that is facilitating the donation of an accessible van from the mother of a young lady who passed away to the mother of three children with disabilities. The van was actually serviced by Dynamic throughout its life and seems to be in good shape. Nonetheless, it will need to be inspected when it is titled to the new owner, and I was hoping Dynamic would be willing to donate the service to get that done.

  • EmPOWER Mentoring Program (JAB)

Jose, one of our founders, donated his time as a mentor for the entire program. A Program for Underrepresented Businesses, by Underrepresented Businesses.

  • Boat United Way

Sailing into the winter solstice. For 2020 we joined the United way to raise funds for their Pathway to Transportation Program. This is a lot of fun that keeps growing every year. Come see the boats and vote for your favorite.
